We make an appointment to meet at your office or home (or, frequently, both). If you have
had the time and inclination to sort out the books you wish to dispose of, I assess the resale
potential of the books, count them, and propose a price for the lot. If we agree, I write you a
check, box up the books, and carry them away. In most cases this takes less than an hour.
If you haven't sorted, or were not inclined to pull books off the shelves before you were sure of
getting a fair price, we can do this: 1) I scan the shelves and pull out by a couple of inches
each title I would like to purchase from you. 2) You have the opportunity to push back in
whichever books you can't bring yourself to part with. 3) I assess the titles that remain
protruding and tell you what I'd pay for them.
I simply can't know in advance how much your books will be worth, but I can assure you that I
will pay you a great deal more than the same books will bring at whatever local used bookstore
you choose to lug them to. And I do the packing and lifting.
