Ours is a small but painstakingly professional business run by two people who had editorial careers in scholarly publishing, then a stint as owners of an independent retail bookstore, before coming to rest, sort of, on thirty very hilly acres of woods and prairie in northeastern Kansas. From this unlikely spot issues forth a steady stream of books to researchers and scholars all over the world.

Walter’s Sisyphian task is to endlessly replenish the shelves of the book-warehouse next to our home. This he does by plying the university campuses of the central and eastern United States, meeting with retiring professors, book-review editors, prize-committee judges, and others who have too many books and too little space. To sell books, email Walter.

Suzan does absolutely everything else, pricing, describing, and listing for sale freshly acquired books, endlessly adjusting the prices of the older inventory, and wrapping and shipping each book that sells, usually with minutes of receiving the order.
